have a lovely weekend x
Lucien is two months old today, he is doing fine and we are doing fine. I have finally finished to work on a few dolls for a couple of shops which has proven to be more difficult than I thought. the little spare time i have has been spent trying to finalize these orders and it has got me a bit frustrated at times.
There is so much (home) crafting i would like to tackle, clothes i would like to make, new creations i would like to work on - I do hope i can find a balance and a new routine soon.
Last week I popped in a charity shop and found this old clothkits kit. Clothkits was well known in the seventies and eighties in England for selling pre printed garment kits. It is relaunching at the end of this month and it will be interesting to see what type of garment they will be offering. I love that skirt kit, the fabric is a cool teal corduroy and the skirt has a nice inverted pleat at the back. this will have to be added onto my to do list.
Talking about clothing, Lynne and Melissa at sugar city journal make beautiful to die for garments for their children and made my day yesterday in giving me a 'you make my day' award. thank you both.
and I have finally added a few Babette into my shop . go and check them out!
have a lovely weekend x
I can't believe I haven't been posting for the last two weeks, where did the time go and what have I been doing? well last week was all about dealing with roofer, decorator and scaffolding so the exterior of the house is no more a horrible blue but a neutral cream.. and I had a haircut, so here is a picture of me for once, feeling a bit better.
otherwise what is left of my free time has been busy trying to redesign and rebuild my website by myself without any prior knowledge in that field, so it has and is still taking me a lot of time to figure it all out. I am hoping to relaunch it this week but who knows, I could still be at it next month!
this new Ikea fabric above made me happy yesterday, it is a new design by Linda Svensson, I'm loving the autumnal shades and colours.
this Staffordshire set was thrifted at our local car boots sale today
and I decided to frame this bit of vintage fabric I have had for a few years now . I am starting to gather bits and pieces to decorate our bedroom walls which badly need a bit of attention.
and again thank you all for your nice comments on this blog, it is always very much appreciated
Enjoy the rest of your weekend x
here is a sneak peek of some new birds I have made for my shop which I still hope to reopen towards the end of the month .. if not early October..
I got these cute scraps of vintage mushroom fabric on ebay, i really like the turquoise tones of the one at the top left. as per usual i have no idea what to make out of it, they're just nice to look at for now.
and couldn't resist taking that photo of Léon having an unsual nap on Friday afternoon. this is what a hectic week at nursery does to you.
hope you are enjoying your weekend x
Last Tuesday was Julian's birthday and I got him this work bag designed by Ally Capellino for the Tate shop, it is made from a very nice and sturdy canvas and is perfect for the start of a new season
While wandering around charity shops with my mum last week I found this leather bag for a couple of pounds which made me very happy.
Today was a lovely day. Car boot sale in the morning followed by a lovely pub lunch and a little visit to a village fête. Shame I forgot to take my camera.
The rocking horse was picked up at the car boot sale and is now hanging on Léon's door.
and at long last we got around to staple this Robert Stewart's print onto a canvas board. it just needs to be hung on the wall now. check out his other designs recreated by Classic textiles.
I even managed to do some sewing this weekend which is quite unusual. this is a new doll with no name yet and orange feet
hope your weekend was good x
While passing my favorite local charity shop this week, I saw these Ercol nest of tables, thought I wouldn't bother getting them this time and went home .. only to rush back to the same place the morning after and feel a great sense of relief when i realized they could still be mine. and I only had to spend a few pounds ..
Now somebody has been enjoying his guitar lately
so we made these guitar cookies together in our new - almost finished - kitchen which looks very much like Camilla's at the moment, photos coming soon
and also made this little doll for a customer
Have a great weekend everyone!
and thank you all for your comments about the house and finds below, I am sorry I haven't been able to reply to each one of you..
