some quick sewing at the weekend. I made some curtains for the kitchen window. 

I've had this thrifted voile for a while and like the way it matches my Dutch plates.

we've got a new small decking area that we haven't been able to enjoy much yet as there has been rain, rain and more rain over the weekend.


these storage boxes are on my wish list. in the meantime, I had to make a little circle bag to store all the little toys I am stepping on from one room to another. I used some Ikea fabric and a bit of batting.

i love corduroy

Love the green sofa and the cushions colour scheme..
At the weekend I felt the urge of making something out of a nice and light orangey corduroy fabric I just got.

I quickly gave up the idea of trying to figure out how to make myself some fly fronted trousers without any pattern whatsoever and made a mini elasticated version for Lucien instead.
I just copied the pattern of another pair of corduroy trousers he was given (coming from here )

snow and hats

Snow made an appearance this weekend so we postponed our plans to venture to the beach.
Instead we put up our new clock purchased from the very good and much talked about H is for home online shop.

We had an Easter egg hunt indoors. Léon is wearing his bunny hat I made last year.

I had to make one for little Lucien too. I used a thick velvety material and lined it with a very thin cotton fabric. Hope your weekend was good.

birds and dolls

We got a new camera a couple of weeks ago and it took me that long to take it out of the box, browse the notice, take pictures, download them, etc.. I am not very good with new equipment, it always takes me a while to take it all in.
I found this book a while ago and was smitten by the birds illustrations, so much so that it inspired me to make my first postcard featuring one of my softbirds

well actually Julian did all the work ..
the postcard will be available in the shop early next month

I am also working on new dolls that will be taller than the usual ones. I am hoping to finish some by the end of the weekend.

I love Ikea

I bought these stripes and triangles fabric from ikea this week. the stripey fabric is meant to be made into curtains for the boys' room although now i think it might clash with everything else in it - so might have to reconsider. And the triangles material designed by Anna Svanfeldt will also be made into curtains for our bedroom's alcove. Now i need to find the time to actually do it.

the house is starting to look like an Ikea showroom for their fabric range. After the curtains in our living room, the pillows in the dining room, we also have the baby pouch for Lucien. I made the sling weeks ago when i was still expecting but didn't have a baby to model it.. i used this pattern , lined the sling with some plain linen fabric so it is reversible. Using fleece for the lining would have been nice too.

the only thing is Lucien doesn't seem to be enjoying it that much!

Gracia is a very talented artist, I am in love with all her work so I am happy Leon picked up her number so I can send her a few little things. Have a look at her store, you will find amazing things.

Now I'm not sure Gracia needs wool at the moment as it is about 41°C (105.8°F) where she lives.
I made this patchwork cushion out of woolen recycled material and it will be on her way very soon.

two decorations

More soft trees made from Stephanie's pattern and the rest of the week is a bit of a blur.. going to bed early is definitely taking over my crafting time.

I did manage to have a little photo shoot with the boys as well

Léon took that picture of Lucien at the very bottom..

one decoration

it took me a few days to manage to make Stephanie's soft trees but here they are at last sitting in a corner of the living room. I shall make some more in a minute, there is something relaxing about stuffing them when you didn't have much sleep. I wish I could have a nap but a certain three year old won't let me..

I have added this ghost to the shop . please order it before December 10th if you live outside of Europe and would like it delivered on time for Christmas...
