I love Ikea
I bought these stripes and triangles fabric from ikea this week. the stripey fabric is meant to be made into curtains for the boys' room although now i think it might clash with everything else in it - so might have to reconsider. And the triangles material designed by Anna Svanfeldt will also be made into curtains for our bedroom's alcove. Now i need to find the time to actually do it.
the house is starting to look like an Ikea showroom for their fabric range. After the curtains in our living room, the pillows in the dining room, we also have the baby pouch for Lucien. I made the sling weeks ago when i was still expecting but didn't have a baby to model it.. i used this pattern , lined the sling with some plain linen fabric so it is reversible. Using fleece for the lining would have been nice too.
the only thing is Lucien doesn't seem to be enjoying it that much!

Hi, Fanja! I discovered your blog a few months ago, but I guess I should finally write you something. Lucien is such a beautiful edition to your beautiful family and beautiful home. How exciting! I have to let you know I absolutely love your baby carrier! I hope you can find a way for Lucien to enjoy it as well since his opinion of it is probably the most important part in its effectiveness. I hope his health continues to improve, too. Happy day!

I love the baby sling. The fabric is very cute and the baby is very, very cute!
And I will have to go to my IKEA this weekend to see if I can score some of that triangle fabric. Very cool.
Thanks for the link to the pattern as well.

I love Ikea too. I need to spend more time in the fabric section than I usually do. This is the second time I'm seeing this sling pattern put to use and I think its my turn to give it a go. Of course granted I can find some time.

Hi, yesterday, I've used the very same ikea fabric as your baby-carrier for a big project. But I can't post any pics, because it is a surprise for my niece.
oh I would love to make such a sling too, but I don't have a baby anymore to put in there ;)

Ton bébé est ravissant.

Your sling is lovely. Is the little guy getting more used to it? I found when my boy was a newborn he didn't like the sling at all, just the Moby wrap. Later, when he could sit up, he liked the sling in the hip carry position (and still does, at 15 months). Good luck!

I love that fabric you used for the sling. When you first posted I'd come back just to long for it (I finally got some). Also wanted to tell you I love the name Lucien, he's a beautiful baby.
