les vacances!

We are off on holiday tomorrow at long last. We are flying to Ibiza and I am hoping to grab as much sunshine as I can in a week. For the occasion I made

two pairs of cotton shorts for Léon

Stripeybag

a linen bag for myself

Khakiskirt

a basic elasticated jersey skirt

Leonsdrawstringbag_2

a drawstring bag for Léon needed for nursery which starts as soon as we're back. the fabric is from superbuzzy of course.

and we will be celebrating my birthday over there as well as our anniversary ( 9 and 35, guess which one is which..)

enjoy the last days of August!

soft case

I made this case for my sunglasses out of the much loved Ikea fabric, I used wadding for extra softness. Hopefully I will have the occasion to use my sunglasses when we go on holiday next week.

bags

Allycapellinoworkbag

Last Tuesday was Julian's birthday and I got him this work bag designed by Ally Capellino for the Tate shop, it is made from a very nice and sturdy canvas and is perfect for the start of a new season

Leatherbag

While wandering around charity shops with my mum last week I found this leather bag for a couple of pounds which made me very happy.

mud and music

I am slowly recovering from the camping and rejoicings of the Greenman festival. It all started nice and sunny in the beautiful setting of Glanusk park, South Wales, then the rain settled in on the second day followed by very cold winds on the last day.. and very few music festivals in Britain can escape a bit of mud, we had lots of it.

Still, the music was good, the Welsh ( 9bach , Gruff Rhys, Euros Child ..) and the Americans ( Joanna Newsom, Stephen Malkmus & the jicks ..) made it all worthwhile.

I was also very pleased at the weekend to see a picture of one of my Eddy rabbit next to a skinny laminx tee shirt in a great article written by Jenny Dalton for the Financial Times. Thanks Jenny for asking me to be part of it!

shorter

Maternitytop

so this is the same as this but shorter and I am looking bigger. Also my mum brought us some saucisson, nougat, other sweets and biscuits and this is not helping..

we had a good time at the car boot sale this morning, everybody went back home with little treasures, mine were these vintage sheets and napkins. now the dilemma, keeping as it is or making something out of it?

just enjoying summertime

the sun is shining, hope it will last..

this week, I made a short version of this dress but haven't quite managed to take a photo yet, maybe I will do so this weekend.

my mum is coming over tomorrow, she is staying with us for a few days then Julian, Léon and myself are off to the Greenman festival . we've been going every year for the last three years and I can't wait to pitch the tent up, sit down and just enjoy the music.

have a nice weekend everyone!

Léon and Azu staring at the boats on the Thames from London's City hall .
This was our last day spent with our dear friends at the beginning of the week, we've had great times together and are missing them already..

Kitchenmata_3

Now if I've got the chance I like ending the week with a bit of sewing. This kitchen mat had been on the list for a while, I kept the design and colours very simple, used linen and cotton for the front and a thrifted towel for the back.

Thank you  Stephanie, Amanda and  Melissa for the inspiration!

have a good weekend everyone
